Vision, Mission & Values

Who we are as Faith City Church

VISION:

We see Faith City as a large, growing church of different nations, cultures, ages, abilities and walks of life united in Christ ; finding hope and purpose in the gospel.

Faith City is where the felt needs of our community can be met, and a welcoming place for the community to meet.

We see the the city, region and nation experiencing God's presence expressed through an inspired arts culture.

At the center of it all We see people transformed by the love and power of God through discipleship.

MISSION:

At Faith City Church our mission is to holistically engage people with the gospel; equipping and empowering each other to live it out in our worlds. That is discipleship. It's who we are. It's what we do.

VALUES:

1. All People, All Ways. (John 4; Colossians 3:9-11)

Jesus saw potential in everyone, so do we. He didn’t play favorites and we don’t either. We strive to help everyone make meaningful connections in our faith community and we work to serve them in all ways with the best we have.

2. We Are Christians First. (2 Corinthians 5:17; Philippians 2:10)

We are Christians first; all other influences and our humanity submit to Jesus Christ because our identity is found in Him.

3. Discipleship Is Not Optional.  (Matthew 28:19-20)

Discipleship is not a class, it is not a program, it is not only for new believers. Discipleship is the strategy for growing in God modeled by Jesus. It is life-long and the responsibility of all followers of Christ to be discipled and to disciple others. So, who are you discipling? Who is discipling you?

4. Empowered Leaders. (Philippians 3:13-14; 4:13; Ephesians 1:15-23)

We believe the gospel is about releasing us in freedom rather than restricting us in legalism.   So we strive to empower leaders by releasing them to the bigness of their God-given purpose rather than restricting them to small dreams, and small influence.

5. Always Learning. (Proverbs 1:5; 18:15; 2 Timothy 3:7)

Jesus taught the rest learned; and then they taught and others learned.  There is no way to lead in God’s kingdom without learning.  We strive to be a learning Church with sound Biblical teaching, that embrace’s trying and failing as part of progress.  Have you failed lately?

6. Creative Everything.  (Ephesians 2:10)

God is the ultimate Creator.  He made us in His image, He made the universe glorious.  We try to reflect His creative nature in everything we do.

7. Worship More. (John 4:24; Romans 12:1-2)

Worship is never over.  There is always more we can give, more we can express in singing and prayer; more artistry and words to be offered; more ways to serve God and love others.  We worship God in every way we can, every time we can; and we will never stop.

8. Experiencing God Not Just Knowing Him.   (Exodus 33:14; Hebrews 10:20)

We want to experience God not just know Him, so we make room for His presence.  It brings freedom, life, transformation, and out of this world (supernatural) power into our lives.  Knowledge is important, but so is experience.

9. He Leads, We Follow.  (Galatians 5:18; Acts 13:4; Mark 1:12)

The Holy Spirits leads the Church not us.  We follow him and do our best to bring others along.   He makes us fruitful, gives us abilities (gifts) and empowers our expression of Christ’s love in word and action.

10. Missional Is The Main Thing.  (Mark 16:15; James 1:27)

Keeping the main thing means loving others like Jesus did.  It’s bigger than us!  So we are globally minded and regionally focused bringing the gospel of Jesus to the heart of our city and world.
